Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 of the 5 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trek: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park
Have an early breakfast and transfer to Nyungwe Forest national park home to the endangered chimpanzees. Have an en route visit to the national museum in Butare, the Murambi genocide memorial site, and the Nyanza king’s palace.
Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and canopy walk
After breakfast transfer to the park headquarters and attend to a briefing from the park warden on do’s and don’ts while tracking chimps. You will then transfer to the starting point of the chimpanzee hiking trail. Expect to meet Chimpanzees, black and white colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, and baboons along the trail. Return to the lodge for relaxation in the health club. In the afternoon, go for a canopy walk rewarding you with spectacular views of Nyungwe forest, Virunga volcanoes, and the neighboring communities.
Day 3: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
In the morning, you will enjoy a scenic long drive to Volcanoes national park in Ruhengeri.
Day 4 of the 5 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trek: Gorilla Trekking Expedition
After the briefing from the senior park ranger commence your memorable gorilla trekking adventure which normally takes 1 to 8 hours in the jungle. You will be allowed to stay in the presence of the gorillas for at least an hour. After the gorilla trek, your safari guide will transfer you back to the lodge for relaxation and any other next activity.
Day 5: Transfer back to Kigali
After breakfast transfer back to Kigali. You may wish to enjoy a city tour including a visit to the Gisozi genocide memorial site. They will be ready to transfer you to the airport for your departure flight to the next destination.
